Due to the passing away of Father Benedict Chao of Lantao on 31 July, we wish to renew our reverence for those whose long lives continue to be offered entirely to God in silence, prayer, and work. These monks and nun are now the eldest members of our order:
Sister Sebastiana Yamaguchi Teruko, Imari Abbey, born 15 October 1918 — 107 years old
Brother Frederic Collins, Gethsemani Abbey, born 31 March 1923 — 103 years old
Father Pierre Mougel, Acey Abbey, born 23 April 1923 — 103 years old
Father Francisco Dietzler, Novo Mundo Abbey, born 10 May 1923 — 103 years old
May their steadfast witness continue to inspire us.
