Soke

On 25 March, the Solemnity of the Annunciation, the dedication of the Church of Soke took place. The celebration was presided over by His Excellency Monsignor Kryspin Dubiel, who has been Apostolic Nuncio to Angola since 1 July 2024, and was attended by the current Archbishop of Huambo, His Excellency Monsignor Zeferino Zeca Martins, of the Society of the Divine Word, and Archbishop Emeritus Dom José de Queirós Alves, a retired member of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (CSsR), and attended by numerous priests and deacons, including in particular Father Alberto Henrique Sissimo, Vice-President of the Conference of Major Superiors of Religious in Angola, and Dom Emmanuel Cottineau, Councillor to the Abbot General and Treasurer of the Order, both assistants to the Commissioner of the Soke, Mother Maria Francesca Righi, Abbess of Valserena. Also present was Father Massimiliano, Superior of Tre Fontane and recently appointed Immediate Superior.

Among the guests was also the architect who designed the church and who gave his testimony, which we have attached, as well as the final words of thanks from Mother Maria Francesca.

The celebration was presided over by Fr Daniel Nogueira, OSB, and accompanied by a choir of exceptional quality, conducted by Maestro Fr Vasco Justo S.

Also present were representatives of the Redemptoristine Nuns, the Benedictines and the Sisters of Tuzing, as well as other faithful friends of the Community and young aspirants.

We give thanks for the grace received on this day.
