Origins

Founded May 18,1820 at Vaise-Lyon-Rhône, and incorporated in 1834 into the congregation of Notre Dame de la Trappe.

History

Lyon-Vaise : 18 May 1820 – 24 August 1834

Monastery of nuns coming from 1) la Petite Riedra (Switzerland) – 2) then from Frénouville (Normandy) and finally from Cuire (Lyon, May 13, 1817) who moved to Vaise on 18 May 1820.

This whole community was transferred on 24 August  1834 to Maubec (Montélimar – Drôme) led by Catherine Olivier (Mère Victime de Jésus), superior of Vaise in 1825 and prioress of  Maubec.

 

1844 The community of Maubec changes its name from Notre Dame de toute Consolation (Our Lady of All Consolation) to Notre Dame de Bon Secours (Our Lady of Good Help).

1847 foundation of the orphanage, which was closed in 1931.

1952, 21 March: solemn vows in conformity with “Sponsa Christi”
