Orígenes
The pioneers of Mount St. Bernard Abbey were all professed religious, English or Irish, of Melleray. Some came directly from France whilst others had spent a short time in Ireland. Melleray regarded this abbey as its first daughter house and made the regular visitations of Mount St. Bernard until the transfer of paternity in 1858.

1964 Dom Ambrose elected Abbot Vicar.
1974: Dom Ambrose Southey is elected Abbot General.
