Origins

Founded 1134; re-established 1794 by la Val-Sainte in Lulworth, England. Erected as priory 1810. Erected as abbey 31 July 1814. Transfer from Lulworth to Melleray 7 August 1817.

1810: raised to the rank of priory (but according to Dom Augustine’s model in which he retained the governance)

1947: Timadeuc contributes a group of monks.
