May 17, 2013 : Dom Eduardus Wellens was born in 1916 in Ulden (The Netherlands). He entered Westmalle in 1935, made his solemn profession in 1942 and was ordained a priest in 1943. Dom Eduardus was abbot of Westmalle from 1956 to 1967. He was 96 years old, had been in monastic vows for 75 years and 70 years a priest when the Lord called him.

May5, 2013 : Father Pierre-Marie Aubry was born in 1924 in Sotteville-lès-Rouen (France). “Fils de la Charité”, he was ordained a priest in 1951. He entered Bellefontaine in 1981 and made his commitment as an Oblate in the Community in1988. Father was 88 years old, had been a priest for 62 years and an Oblate for 25 years when the Lord called him.

He was sent to Kasanza (RDC) in 1959 and made stability there. He lived in the Monastery of Latroun (Israël) since 1994. Father was 84 years old, had been in monastic vows for 61 years and 56 years a priest when the Lord called him.
