Bricquebec - Dom Paul Houix (2)

Wednesday, 26 August 2015

The health of Dom Paul remains very worrisome; he remains in a coma. The doctors fear that his brain was damaged during the cardiac arrest and perhaps this is the reason why Dom Paul is not yet out of the coma. They will do more tests. We pray for him. Thank you for your fraternal support.

Monday, 17 August 2015

On Tuesday 11 August, Dom Paul Houix had an accident in the abbey of Bricquebec.

While he was driving, alone in the car, he struck a wall of the monastery; the impact was very violent. Firefighters extracted him from the vehicle and took him by ambulance, on oxygen, to the hospital in Cherbourg.

He was operated on for a completely fractured ankle with local anesthesia. He also cracked his sternum and suffered some ribs broken.

In the night between Saturday and Sunday, his condition has worsened. He has had a prolonged cardiac arrest and no one knows what the consequences might be. He was taken to intensive care and is currently in an induced coma.
