July 2, 2012: Dom Edward McCorkell was born in 1926 in Johannesburg (South Africa). He entered Our Lady of the Valley in 1945, made his solemn profession in 1950, transferring with the community to Spencer later that year, and was ordained a priest in 1951.  He was Superior at LaDehesa from 1963 to 1966 and Abbot of Berryville from 1967 to 1980. Father was 86 years old, had been in monastic vows for 65 years and 61 years a priest when the Lord called him.
