March 7, 2012 : Father Dismas Gannon was born in 1925 in Jamaica, NY (USA). He entered O.L. of the Valley, Cumbermere R.I. in 1943, and was a founder of O.L. of Guadalupe Abbey, Pecos N.M in 1948, where he made his solemn profession later that year of 1948. He was ordained a priest in 1950. Father was 86 years old, had been in monastic vows for 68 years and 61 years a priest when the Lord called him.
