Correction
to the Liturgical Ordo
This year the
solemnities of Saint Joseph and the
Annunciation fall during Holy Week and within the
Octave of Easter. The case of the Annunciation is covered in the
general norms: the proper day for its celebration is Monday of
the second week of Easter. As for Saint Joseph, nothing is said
about it in the general norms. The editor of the Ordo, unsure of
what would be decided by the higher authorities, followed the
general principles, placing this solemnity also in the second
week after Easter. As it turns out, the Roman Calandar moved the
solemnity up to the Saturday before Palm Sunday, a much better
solution. Our Ordo therefore needs to be corrected as follows.
