Kokoubou [84] : On January 5, 2008, at the end of his first term, Dom Jean Forestier was re-elected Prior of Kokoubou for a six year term.
Esmeraldas [62*] : Following the resignation of Mother Miren-Gixane Garamendi, on January 18, 2008, Sister Mireya Sanchez Martinez has been elected titular prior of Esmeraldas (Ecuador) for a six year term. M. Mireya was born in 1956, she entered Esmeraldas in 1993, and made solemn profession in 1999.
New Melleray [19] : Dom Brendan Freeman completed his fourth term of six years as Abbot of New Melleray (USA) on January 19, 2008. On the same day, Dom Brendan was re-elected Abbot of the Community for a six year term.
El Encuentro [47*] : Mother Aurora Chávez Farias completed her six year term as abbess of El Encuentro (Mexico). On February 2, 2008, she was re-elected Abbess of the Community for a six year term.
Ava [65] : On February 5, 2008, Dom Brendan Freeman, Abbot of New Melleray and Father Immediate of Assumption Abbey (Ava, Missouri, USA) appointed Father Cyprian Harrison Superior ad nutum. Dom Cyprian was born in 1930 and he entered New Melleray in 1950. He professed solemn vows in 1955 and was ordained priest in 1957. He made his stability at Ava in 1968. At the time of his appointment Father Cyprian was the Prior of the Community. He had been Abbot of Ava from 1988 to 1994.
Nazareth [28*] : Mother Beatrijs Peeters completed her first term of six years as abbess of Nazareth (Brecht) on February 27, 2008. On the same day, Mother Beatrijs was re-elected Abbess of the Community for a six year term.
Victoria [73] : The community of Victoria in Kenya has decided to move to a new location. The reason, as all are aware, is the series of events that recently took place in that country, and concern for the brothers’ safety. For the time being, they will settle in the diocese of Masaka, Uganda. Within a year they will come to a decision regarding a more permanent location. Let us be united in prayer for the Victoria community, as well as for the Father Immediate and the community of Tilburg, who have provided valuable assistance.
Frattocchie [37] : Dom Guillaume Jedrzejczak, Abbot of Mont-des-Cats and Father Immediate of Frattocchie, appointed Father Thomas Georgeon, monk of La Trappe,as Superior ad nutum of Frattocchie (diocese of Albano, Italia). Father Thomas was born in 1967. He entered La Trappe in 1994 and made his Solemn Vows in 1999. He was ordained priest in 2002 and served the Community of La Trappe as novice master until his appointment. He will begin his service at Frattocchie on the 28th of May, 2008.
Cardeña [55] : On April 1st, 2008, the monks of the abbey of Cardeña, in the diocese of Burgos (Spane), elected as their abbot, for a six year term, Father Jesús Marrodán Ezquerro. Dom Jesús was born in 1943 and he entered Cardeña in 1957. He professed solemn vows in 1965 and was ordained priest in 1970. Dom Jesús served the Community of Cardeña as novice master and at the time of the election, he was secretary of the Community.
Azul [76] : Dom Augustine Roberts presented his abbatial resignation last October because of age and it became effective in February of this year. The community decided to have a superior ad nutum : on April 3, Dom Damian Carr, Abbot of Spencer and Father Immediate of Azul, named Father José Otero as superior ad nutum of Azul. Dom José was born in Buenos Aires in 1943, entered Azul in 1977, made solemn profession in 1983 and was ordained priest in 1988. He was Regional Delegate to the General Chapter of 1999 and coordinator of the Secretariat for the MGM of 2005. He had been Director of Novices and was Prior at the time of his appointment as Superior.
Kurisumala [96] : Dom Yesudas Thelliyil completed his first term of six years as Abbot of Kurisumala (India) on April 4, 2008. On the same day, Dom Yesudas was re-elected Abbot of the Community for a six year term.

your name as it appears on your passport, your nationality, the city (town; village) of birth; your date of birth, that is the: day, month and year, indicate the country that issued the passport , the Passport number, the date the Passport was issued, the date the Passport expires.
With this information, a letter of invitation will be issued by Dom Bernardo. This letter is then approved by the Congregation of Religious and by the Vatican Secretary of State, and sent to you. You bring it to your local Italian Consulate to request a visa.

Sister Marina Riquelme has completed her assistance to the Generalate Community as cook and has returned to her monastery of Humocaro (Venezuela). Sister has been replaced by Sister Carmen Ponce Castro of the monastery of Quilvo (Chile) who had been yet Viale Africa’s cook from 1999 until 2002.

Clairefontaine
March 30, 2008 : Sister Geneviève Feysel was born in 1913 in Rueil-Malmaison (France). She entered Clairefontaine in 1966 and made her commitment as an Extern Sister in the Community in 1969. Sister was 94 years old and had been an Extern Sister for 38 years when the Lord called her.
La Grâce-Dieu
March 30, 2008 : Mother Marie-Joseph Jeunehomme was born in 1915 in Chagny (France). She entered La Grâce-Dieu in 1938 and made her solemn profession in 1943. Mother Marie-Joseph was Abbess of La Grâce-Dieu from 1956 to 1980. She was 92 years old and had been in monastic vows for 68 years when the Lord called her.
Roscrea
March 27, 2008 : Father Andrew Cowen was born in 1929 in Clara (Ireland). He entered Roscrea in 1948 and made his solemn profession in 1954. He was ordained a priest in 1957. Father was 78 years old, had been in monastic vows for 58 years and 50 years a priest when the Lord called him.
Mount St. Bernard
March 24, 2008 : Brother Peter Odlum was born in 1929 in London (England). He entered Mount St. Bernard in 1951 and made his solemn profession in 1956. Brother was 78 years old and had been in monastic vows for 54 years when the Lord called him.
Caldey
March 20, 2008 : Bishop John Gran, Bishop Emeritus of Oslo, was born in 1920 in Bergen (Norway). He entered Caldey in 1948 and made his solemn profession in 1955. He was ordained a priest in 1956. He became auxiliary Bishop of Oslo on the 24th March 1963 and became Ordinary of the Diocese in 1964 until 1982, after which he retired to the Island of Corsica. Dom John Gran was 87 years old, had been in monastic vows for 56 years and 52 years a priest when the Lord called him.
Blauvac
March 15, 2008 : Sister Simone Modat was born in 1924 in Saint Féliu d'Avall (France). She entered Maubec in 1960 and made her solemn profession in 1966. Sister was 84 years old and had been in monastic vows for 45 years when the Lord called her.
Echt
March 13, 2008 : Brother Simon Mulder was born in 1923 in Zoeterwoude (Netherlands). He entered Tilburg in 1952, was sent to O.L. of Victoria (Kenya) in 1955 and made his solemn profession there in 1959. He returned to the Netherlands and made his transfer to Echt in 1977. Brother was 84 years old and had been in monastic vows for 52 years when the Lord called him.
Arévalo
March 10, 2008 : Sister Teresa Martín Garcia was born in 1923 in Villanueva de Gomez (Spain). She entered Arévalo in 1950 and made her solemn profession in 1954. Sister was 84 years old and had been in monastic vows for 56 years when the Lord called her.
Butende
March 5, 2008 : Sister Veronica Nyamirere was born in 1944 in Bushoro Kabale (Uganda). She entered Butende in 1971 and made her solemn profession in 1979. Sister was 64 years old and had been in monastic vows for 33 years when the Lord called her.
Mount Melleray
March 4, 2008 : Father Hugh McCaffery was born in 1921 in Dungarvan (Ireland). He entered Mount Melleray Abbey in 1938 and made his solemn profession in 1943. He was ordained a priest in 1945. Father was 86 years old, had been in monastic vows for 67 years and 63 years a priest when the Lord called him.
Nasu
March 1, 2008 : Sister Maria Amedea Yamaguchi Yoshie was born in 1929 in Nagasaki (Japan). She entered Nishinomiya in 1948 and made her solemn profession in 1954. She was one of the foundresses of Nasu in 1954. Sister was 79 years old and had been in monastic vows for 57 years when the Lord called her.

February 21, 2008 : Father Gérard Defaud was born in 1930 in St Philippe (Reunion Island). He entered Aiguebelle in 1950 and made his solemn profession in 1957. He was ordained a priest in 1958. Father was 77 years old, had been in monastic vows for 55 years and 49 years a priest when the Lord called him.
Nazareth
February 16, 2008 : Sister Paula Sunaert was born in 1925 in Genk (Belgium). She entered Nazareth in 1953 and made her solemn profession in 1958. Sister was 82 years old and had been in monastic vows for 52 years when the Lord called her.
San Isidro
February 14, 2008 : Brother Saturnino Ledesma Marcos was born in 1923 in Valdepolo (Spain). He entered San Isidro in 1937 and made his solemn profession in 1947. Brother was 84 years old and had been in monastic vows for 65 years when the Lord called him.
Nunraw
February 13, 2008 : Brother Stephen Heenan was born in 1919 in Glasgow (Scotland). He entered Nunraw in 1952 and made his solemn profession in 1958. Brother was 88 years old and had been in monastic vows for 53 years when the Lord called him.
La Trappe
February 12, 2008 : Brother Jean-Pierre Ippen was born in 1926 in Vienne (Austria). He entered La Trappe in 1979 and made his solemn profession in 1984. Brother was 82 years old and had been in monastic vows for 27 years when the Lord called him.
Mariawald
February 9, 2008 : Father Nicolaus Jansen was born in 1922 in Neuss (Germany). He entered Mariawald in 1956 and made his solemn profession in 1963. He was ordained a priest in 1966. Abbot of Engelszell : 1983 - 1989. Father was 85 years old, had been in monastic vows for 47 years and 41 years a priest when the Lord called him.
Tamié
February 4, 2008 : Dom François de Sales Berthet was born in 1926 in Frangy (France). He entered Tamié in 1947. He made his solemn profession and was ordained a priest in 1953. Abbot of Tamié : 1960 - 1980. Superior and Prior Titular of Mokoto : 1982 - 1994. Father was 81 years old, had been in monastic vows for 57 years and 54 years a priest when the Lord called him.

January 30, 2008 : Sister Natividad Fernández Castrejón was born in 1923 in Arenas de S. Pedro (Spain). She entered Avila in 1948 and made her solemn profession in 1952. Sister was 84 years old and had been in monastic vows for 58 years when the Lord called her.
Nazareth
January 28, 2008 : Sister Harlindis Gerits was born in 1922 in Peer (Belgium). She entered Soleilmont in 1948 and she was one of the foundresses of O.L of Nazareth Abbey-Brecht in 1950. She made her solemn profession in 1954. Sister was 85 years old and had been in monastic vows for 57 years when the Lord called her.
Le Rivet
January 28, 2008 : Sister Antoinette Dessalles was born in 1933 in Douville (France). She entered Le Rivet in 1972 and made her commitment as an Oblate in the Community in 1978. Sister was 74 years old and had been an Oblate for 30 years when the Lord called her.
Brialmont
January 22, 2008 : Sister Madeleine Biquet was born in 1913 in Waterschei (Belgium). She entered Sorée in 1938 and made her solemn profession in 1943. Sister was 94 years old and had been in monastic vows for 67 years when the Lord called her.
Sept-Fons
January 19, 2008 : Father François de Sales Decupper was born in 1913 in Paris (France). He entered Sept-Fons in 1938 and made his solemn profession in 1946. He was ordained a priest in 1947. Father was 94 years old, had been in monastic vows for 65 years and 60 years a priest when the Lord called him.
Tilburg
January 18, 2008 : Brother Macarius Van Erp was born in 1934 in Uden (The Netherlands). He entered Tilburg in 1992 and made his solemn profession in 1997. Brother was 73 years old and had been in monastic vows for 13 years when the Lord called him.
Echt / Tegelen
(annexe)January 16, 2008 : Brother Andreas Olijslagers was born in 1916 in Sassenheim (Netherlands). He entered Tegelen in 1944 and made his solemn profession in 1950. Brother was 91 years old and had been in monastic vows for 60 years when the Lord called him.
Cardeña
January 15, 2008 : Father Marcos García Díez was born in 1939 in Robledo de las Traviesas (Spain). He entered Cardeña in 1950 and made his solemn profession in 1961. He was ordained a priest in 1963. He was elected Abbot at Cardeña July 15, 1990. His third term would have been completed in July. He died suddenly of a heart attack. Dom Marcos was 68 years old, had been in monastic vows for 51 years and 44 years a priest when the Lord called him.
Avila
January 8, 2008 : Sister Soledad Bravo García was born in 1922 in Perazancas (Spain). She entered Avila in 1940 and made her solemn profession in 1945. Sister was 85 years old and had been in monastic vows for 65 years when the Lord called her.

Spencer
December 24, 2007 : Brother Leonard O’Dowd was born in Bedford, Massachusetts (USA) on May 2, 1905. He entered the Abbey of Our Lady of the Valley, in Valley Falls, Rhode Islands (USA) in 1945. He transferred with the community to Spencer, Massachusetts in 1950 and made his Solemn Profession there as a Lay Brother in 1951. Brother was 102 years old and had been in monastic vows for 59 years when the Lord called him on Christmas Eve. After the death of Father Nicolas of Lantao (110 years old) and the death of Brother Sebastianus of Phare (107 years old), Brother Leonard was the oldest monk of our Order
